They don’t always find a lot of common ground, but Maryland’s and Virginia’s attorneys general Tuesday joined 15 of their state counterparts in calling on Craigslist to remove its adult services section, The Washington Examiner reports.
In a letter, the attorneys general said the popular classifieds Web site is rampant with advertisements for prostitution and child trafficking. It is the strongest rebuttal yet to a service that has come under growing scrutiny for what some believe is lax monitoring of messages and improper safeguards for users.
