Giles: The ACORN Suit Is ‘Silly’   [Robert Costa]
Hannah Giles, a 20-year-old sophomore at Florida International University, gained notice earlier this month for her exposé of ACORN that was published on Andrew Breitbart’s BigGovernment.com. On Wednesday, ACORN filed suit against Giles, Breitbart, and James O’Keefe, Giles’s fellow political provocateur, for secretly taping the organization’s employees at its Baltimore office.
ACORN alleges that Giles and O’Keefe, posing as a prostitute and a pimp, taped two of its employees without their consent, in violation of Maryland state law. Giles tells NRO that she thinks that the suit is “silly” and is “confused about why [ACORN] is pinning their troubles on a young woman and a young man.
“I’m determined to see this through,” says Giles. “It’s vital for young people to stand up for what they believe in and to fight for the truth to be heard. Don’t back down if something big and scary comes your way. This is America.”
