Forfeiture of Travel Inn sought
SALISBURY — The U.S. District Court of Maryland has filed a forfeiture complaint against the owners of the Thrift Travel Inn.
The complaint is tied to an incident last summer, when three managers were charged with prostitution and human trafficking after police executed a search and seizure warrant. The owners of the motel were also alleged to be in violation of immigration laws.
Marcia Murphy, a U.S. District Court spokeswoman, said the owners of the motel have 35 days to file a claim in order to avoid forfeiture of the property.
If no claim is filed by the owners, a judgement will be in favor of the U.S. District Court and the motel property would then be sold.
