D.C. Council candidate Kevin B. Chavous entered into a deal today that will end his prosecution on a solicitation of prostitution charge as long as he stays away from the scene of his alleged crime and does 32 hours of community service. Silent after the hearing except to say his campaign will continue, Chavous has yet to explain what exactly happened the night police say he negotiated oral sex for $20. Meanwhile, Tim Craig reports at D.C. Wire, the city’s attorney general and police department are pushing back on a proposal to create permanent “prostitution-free zones” in the area Chavous wants to represent.
